What a winter! When we moved back to the south coast we never
expected to see so much snow and endure such sustained low temperatures.
Despite the weather I hope things are going well for you. We are still sorting the house and planning the garden for when the spring finally comes.
Birds in the garden have been wonderful; we have even had Water Rail under the feeders, Reed Buntings come everyday and we have two Blackcaps feeding on fat balls.
My 2011 Calendar is now being prepared and will be ready for you to buy from Easter. My book is still creating interest so I am pleased about that.
In mid February we had a week in The Gambia for some sunshine and wonderful tropical birds. We also visited a nursery school run by the sister of our bird guide friend. Many of the children are migrants from a war area and are very needy. We are trying to raise some money for them to build a wall between the two classrooms which at present are divided only by a thin hard board panel.
